Position Title: Full and Part-Time Firefighter

Full Time Career Firefighters/EMTs

Starting Salary: 47,204.64

100% Employer paid health, dental insurance & eye care

Paid vacation accrued from start of employment

9 paid holidays from start of employment

Matching 401K retirement after 1 year of employment

100% paid Firefighters’ and Rescue Squad Workers’ Pension Fund

Paid Training

Annual Uniform Allotment

  •  4% match 401k with additional 3% contribution
  • 5% Pay Increase with Associates Degree
  • Pay assistance for degree program 
  • Longevity pay after 2 year

 

Part Time Firefighters/EMTs:

 Hourly Pay: up to $17.00 hour (Depending on Qualifications)

Educational/Experience Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to
successfully perform duties of the position.

Licensing/Certification Requirements

  • Possession of a valid North Carolina class B driver’s license;
  • Possession of a North Carolina Firefighter certification;
  • Must obtain a  North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) within one year of employment.  
  • Possession of Emergency Vehicle Driver certification.

Drug Test & Criminal Checks: Candidates shall pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history check per criteria set forth by this fire department.

  • Copies of your ICS (NIMS) Certifications: 100,200,700,800, and others if you have them
  • Copies of all your Fire or Emergency Service Related Certifications (All Certifications)
  • Copy of your EMT Certification if certified
